5 Quotes That Remind Us of Life’s Magical Undertone

I like to think that some of us are gifted with the ability to live in the ethers. What is even more special is the realization that there are other people just like you. Those who can live in this world and the next; the ones who find beauty in the most humbling of ways, the ones who close their eyes and feel the magic swirl around them, we believe that life is nothing short of a miracle. With each step, and each poetic prose that escapes nectar filled tongues we release a little bit of heaven, a little bit of that cosmic stuff, a little bit of that everlasting love into this world. We are the gifted, the weightless, the manifestors. The ones who find all of the beauty hidden in a decaying tree branch. We nurture the fallen and heal the broken. We are broken because we are cursed with the remembering. We know that there is no greater feeling than love and peace. Here I will share 10 of my favorite magical quotes. These quotes give me a sense of otherness, and I like them. I like them a lot. Let me know if you find yourself resonating with any of these beautiful quotes.

“I believe a leaf of grass is no less than the journey-work of the stars”

Walt Whitman

Walt Whitman’s quote serves as a daily reminder to always have gratitude. When you live a life full of appreciation the ordinary everyday things, we take for granted become extraordinary. Somedays I’ll sit under a tree grounding myself. Feeling the seemingly wise energy of the tree, and I will freak myself out. Like, here is this tree. Simply put. Just a tree. Existing in the same way that I exist. Only it doesn’t want for much. It’s quite complacent. It breathes life to all of us, harbors the small fury bodies of squirrels. It holds a place for many different life forms to exist. It is basically like its ecosystem. Each animal living off of the next and so forth. All providing all intertwining. THAT. IS. AMAZING. It was created by the same creator that created you and me. This tree has a purpose. I have a mission; just as all beings are here for some reason. I know it sounds like some hippy-dippy bullshit, and I can hear the sighs now, but these are the things you begin to feel when you raise your vibration. You have respect for every living thing on this planet, and you feel grateful for being apart of this existence. Remember the same star stuff that is in this tree also exist in you.

“and as we let our light shine,

we unconsciously permit other people to do the same.”

Nelson Mandela

Do what you love. Do what you love. Do what you love! If you are anything like me you cant bring yourself to do anything unless you enjoy it. I am a big believer in doing things that grab you, that fill your heart with the warm stuff. The things that get you up and going in the morning. I’ll be the first to tell you that it sucks to wake up in the morning dragging ass to get to a place you hate, doing things you hate, surrounded by people you hate. I know, I know, hate is such a strong word, but whether you believe it or not; life goes quick. We have to surround ourselves with all of the things we deem as beautiful. Find your gifts, find your talents and never be afraid to share those with the world. Of course, you’ll be judged, but if being judged allows me to be free then so be it. When you begin to do the things you love you feel happy, you feel light; you feel free. Instead of sharing low vibrational, anxious, or worry energy. You now carry the divine light. You now have the power to light up those around you. You may not impact the world, but at least you made a difference to one person, and maybe that one person can make a difference to someone else and so the cycle continues.

”We are travelers on a cosmic journey, stardust, swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools of infinity. Life is eternal, We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment. It is a little parenthesis in eternity.”

Paulo Coelho

Aaaahhhh! I love this. I freaking adore it. Did you feel that when your eyes glided over each word, each phrase, each parenthesis? This man, this beautiful poet writes the most inspiring words I have ever read. I wonder if he finds them floating above his head waiting to be caught; or if they pummel into him like an excited dog waiting to be loved. Anyway, is this not magic? When I read these words for the very first time they gave me this feeling. A feeling that life doesn’t have to be so serious, everything doesn’t need some complicated answer, life is a mystery, and that is the beauty of it all. So live a lot, love a lot, learn a lot; and never take for granted the times you receive a smile from a stranger. Every encounter is an extraordinary encounter. Life is made of special seemingly insignificant moments.

“Happiness is not in another place, but this place…

not for another hour, but this hour.”

 Walt Whitman

How often have you told yourself, “I’ll be happy when all of my bills are paid.” or “I’ll be happy once my children are happy.” and my very favorite “Once everything falls into place and I live in the mansion on the hill; with a fancy car. Then I’ll be happy.” You know what these are? These are diversions of the ego. Ego is afraid of happiness, its fearful of failure. Ego is trying to protect you. In the spiritual community, we are taught to ignore ego, but I believe ignoring any part of ourselves is detrimental. Instead, talk to yourself, nurture yourself, allow yourself to know that there is nothing wrong with being happy. Soon you will begin to realize that happiness is a state of mind and that there is enough joy, happiness, and contentment for everyone. We have to shine lots of love and light on our egos nurture them like they are children. Heal those scary thoughts and let them go out into the universe to be healed. Now will always and forever be the perfect time to be happy.

“Someday, Somewhere, Anywhere, Unfailingly, You’ll Find Yourself, and That, And Only That, Can be The Happiest or Bitterest Hour Of Your Life.”

Pablo Neruda

Bittersweet is how I would describe it. One day you will tilt your head to the sky and laugh because it will all make sense. The breakups, the jobs you hated, the feeling of being pushed around by the forces of the universe. You will see that you were the driver behind the wheel at all times. That every day you made a choice; a choice that leads you to where you are today. At some point, you will discover your underlying truths. All of the things that molded you into the person you are. What things do you wish you could change? What things do you want to remain the same? I pray that whenever you decide to meet yourself, your true self, the higher self that it is a beautiful experience. That you feel the essence of freedom, and that you bring all of your hopes, dreams, and desires into reality.
